A family-run computer shop in Carlisle is encouraging people to recycle their unwanted tech.
Cache4 IT Solutions is running a tech recycling month in April for residents and businesses.
The community is encouraged to drop off everything from outdated laptops and unused desktops, to cables and IT accessories at the shop, where it will be recycled.
Cache4 made the announcement following it’s last scheme in January.
Paul Crooks, managing director of Cache4 IT Solutions, said: “We really care about doing our bit for the environment and helping others do the same.
“This campaign is a small but important way to reduce waste and support sustainability.
“We managed to recycle over 370kg of waste last time in January.
“That’s the equivalent of over 900 laptops or six full-size washing machines, all kept out of landfill.
“We’re really proud, and we’re excited to run this scheme again.”
Alongside the recycling drive, Cache4 is set to host a ‘Tech Discovery Weekend’ on Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12, inviting residents to explore the latest devices.
Designed for those who may feel overwhelmed by technology, the event will feature demonstrations of tablets, laptops, and PCs.
